Our Teaching Methodology

Hands-On, Heart-First Teaching

We believe music lessons should be more than just instruction—they should be inspiring, empowering, and deeply personal. At Bowed Strings, we teach with care, clarity, and consistency, working closely with each student in a judgment-free, motivating environment.

Whether you're learning for leisure or aiming for excellence, we meet you where you are—and help you grow from there.

At Bowed Strings, we take a hands-on, student-focused approach to teaching violin and cello, creating a warm and encouraging space where students can thrive. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned player, our goal is to guide you through a well-rounded musical journey—backed by years of performance and study under renowned musicians.

With experience performing at prestigious competitions and learning from distinguished mentors, we bring both technical expertise and artistic insight to every lesson. When you learn with us, you’re not just receiving instruction—you’re gaining access to the knowledge and training of top-tier musicianship.

We believe that a strong foundation is key to success. That’s why our curriculum incorporates carefully selected studies and repertoire, including time-tested resources like Schradieck, Wohlfahrt, Dont, Kreutzer, Kayser, and Mazas. Through these, students build a comprehensive skill set across tone, technique, and musical interpretation.

As experienced instructors, we tailor each lesson by pairing repertoire—such as violin and cello concertos—with the specific études and technical studies needed to master them. Our students are consistently exposed to a wide range of expressive, challenging works and are coached to refine every aspect of their performance.

With us, students don't just learn how to play—they learn how to listen, interpret, and perform as fine musicians.
