Here are the general policies that students have to agree upon enrolment
General Policies
The following Studio Policies apply to all students of Bowed Strings. By enrolling in violin or cello lessons with us, students (and their guardians, where applicable) agree to comply with all policies outlined below.
Enrolment & Registration
-
Enrollment is confirmed only upon payment of the agreed lesson fees and signing this Terms and Conditions agreement.
-
Students must provide accurate and up-to-date contact information during registration.
Lesson Commitment
-
Students are expected to attend lessons on a weekly basis to ensure steady progress and continuity in learning.
-
Students who frequently miss lessons or are unable to commit to a regular weekly schedule may forfeit their slot at the studio.
-
The studio reserves the right to release a student’s reserved time slot if consistent attendance is not maintained, with or without prior notice.
Lesson Scheduling
-
Lessons are scheduled based on mutual availability and are confirmed once both parties agree on the date and time.
-
Any request to change the scheduled lesson time must be made at least 24 hours in advance and is subject to tutor availability.
Payment & Fees
-
Lesson fees must be paid in full prior to the first lesson or as per the agreed payment schedule.
-
Accepted payment methods: [e.g. bank transfer, PayNow, cash].
-
Fees are non-refundable except under exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the tutor.
-
No credits or refunds will be issued for missed lessons without prior notice.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
-
Students must provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
-
If notice is given within 24 hours or if the student fails to attend a lesson, the lesson fee will be forfeited.
-
In the event the tutor must cancel, lessons will be rescheduled or refunded.
Lesson Conduct
-
Students are expected to arrive on time and be prepared with their instrument and any required materials.
-
Disruptive or disrespectful behavior may result in termination of lessons without refund.
Materials & Equipment
-
Students are responsible for providing their own instrument and accessories unless otherwise agreed.
-
Any supplementary materials provided by the tutor remain the property of the tutor and are for the student’s personal use only.
Health & Safety
-
Students should inform the tutor of any medical conditions or disabilities that may affect their lesson.
-
Lessons may be conducted online or in person, depending on agreement and prevailing circumstances.
Privacy
-
Personal data collected during enrollment will be kept confidential and used solely for lesson administration.
-
Contact information may be used to communicate about lessons, events, or other relevant updates.
Termination
-
Either party may terminate lessons with a minimum of one month's notice, else outstanding lessons may be forfeited with no credit or refunds.
-
All outstanding fees must be settled upon termination.
Liability
-
The tutor is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during lessons or while on the premises.
Parental Attendance Policy
-
For private lessons, only one parent or guardian may accompany the student, and only if the student is under 8 years old.
-
This helps foster focus and a safe, distraction-free learning environment.
-
Parents are kindly asked to remain quiet and refrain from interfering during the lesson.
-
For students aged 8 and above, lessons will be conducted independently unless otherwise discussed with the teacher.
-
Siblings, relatives, or additional guests are not permitted to sit in during lessons unless approved in advance.
-
For group lessons, parental attendance is not allowed.
Marketing & Media Policy
-
From time to time, photos, video, or audio recordings may be taken during lessons, recitals, or studio events for promotional purposes. These materials may be used on the studio’s website, social media platforms, brochures, or other marketing content.
-
No full names or personal contact details will be disclosed in any published media.
-
If you prefer not to be included in marketing materials, please inform the studio in writing.
